You provide important information about yourself to a variety of businesses and organizations. The same is true when you do business with our financial institution. You’re asked to provide us with certain personal information that helps us give you better service and complete your transactions more effectively.

We work diligently to safeguard the information you give to us. In fact, we developed the following policy to ensure your confidentiality and maintain your confidence in our institution. This policy details the strict standards we have in place. For this reason we ask that you please read the following information carefully.


NOTICE OF YOUR FINANCIAL PRIVACY RIGHTS

We, our and us, when used in this notice, mean Fidelity & Trust Bank.

This is our privacy notice for all our customers. When we use the words “you” and “your” we mean the following types of customers:

Our current and former consumer customers who have or have had a continuing relationship by purchasing or holding financial products or services such as:

  • Deposit Accounts
    • Loan Accounts
    • Credit Card Accounts
    • Safe Deposit Boxes
  • All customers with IRA accounts for which we act as custodian

We will tell you the sources of the information we collect about you. We will tell you what measures we take to secure that information.


DEFINITION OF TERMS

Nonpublic personal information means information about you that we collect in connection with providing a financial product or service to you. Nonpublic personal information does not include information that is available from public sources, such as telephone directories or government records. Hereafter, we will use the term “information” to mean nonpublic personal information as defined in this section.

An affiliate is a company we own or control, a company that owns or controls us, or a company that is owned or controlled by the same company that owns or controls us. Ownership does not mean complete ownership, but means owning enough to have control.

A nonaffiliated third party is a person we do not employ or a company that is not an affiliate of ours. This is also known as a nonaffiliated third party, or simply, an “other party.”


THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect information about you from the following sources:

  • Information you give us on applications or other forms
  • Information about your transactions with us
  • Information about your transactions with affiliates
  • Information about your transactions with other parties
  • Information from a consumer reporting agency
  • Information we receive through our Customer Identification Program


THE CONFIDENTIALITY, SECURITY, AND INTEGRITY OF YOUR INFORMATION

We restrict access to information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect this information.


THE INFORMATION WE SHARE

Affiliates
Fidelity & Trust Bank currently has one affiliate company, Fidelity & Trust Mortgage, Inc. (please note that we are NOT affiliated with Metrocities Mortgage, LLC dba Fidelity & Trust Mortgage); however, we anticipate that the number of affiliates may expand in the future. We may share the information we collect about current and former customers with our affiliates so that they may market their products and services to you. Unless you tell us not to, we may share among our affiliates personal financial information about you including:

  • Transaction and experience information from our account records
  • Information we obtain from your applications and other forms, such as your social security number, your income, assets and liabilities, and your marital status
  • Information we obtain from a consumer report, such as your credit score or credit history
  • Information we obtain from outside sources regarding your employment history, or loan or credit card balances

While we share information about you with our affiliates as allowed by law, including name, address, and transactional information about any accounts you have with us, if you prefer that we not share credit report information, please notify us in writing that you wish to Opt Out and mail to: Opt Out Election, Fidelity & Trust Bank, 4831 Cordell Avenue, Bethesda, Maryland 20814 or call 301.657.7800. You will need to provide your name, address and account numbers. Please note: If your account has joint ownership rights or obligations that involve two or more people, we will treat an Opt Out request from any account owner as applying to all account owners. Also, we are required to provide you with a copy of this Privacy Notice each year. If you notify us with an Opt Out request in one year, you do not have to do so again. Your previous notice to us will continue to be honored.

Service Providers/Joint Marketing Partners
In order to provide you with valuable financial products or services, we may share with businesses not affiliated with us your name, address, account transactional information, and credit report information as allowed by law. These businesses will be performing marketing and other services on our behalf. We also may share this information with other financial institutions with which we have joint marketing agreements.

All companies that work for us or act on our behalf are contractually obligated to keep the information that we share with them confidential and use the information only to provide the products and services that we have asked them to provide.


CHANGES

We may amend this Privacy Notice at any time and we will inform you as required by law.
